I am writing my Christmas cards, and I'm sending one to a Russian friend. I've taken Russian classes before, but we didn't learn how to say Merry Christmas. Is "С новым рождество" correct? Could anyone help me out? And don't give me links to on-line translators. I'd like the answer from someone who actually knows. And in Cyrillic alphabet, too, please! Thanks! How do you say Merry Christmas in Russian?
Hi, I'm from Argentina (sorry if my english is not very good!) I lived in Russia for a year.
They say "с рождеством".
But you better say "с новым годом" (It means "Happy new year"), it is more used. Or "с новым годом и рождеством".
In Russia, Christmas is not on 25 december, they celebrate it on 7 january. Remember that when you send your card!
No. 'С новым рождество' wouldn't be right. That's for С новым годом! (Happy New Year). Merry Christmas is С Рождеством!How do you say Merry Christmas in Russian?
