I need help with approaching one of my future career choices?

Okay, when i get older i would like to be a Translator (specifically a Russian Translator), but I have no clue on what to take in school and I have no clue on what to take in college...How do I even tackle this? I know there are not as many Translators as there used to be...but still i don't know what to do...so, i need some suggestions...thanxs everybody!!!I need help with approaching one of my future career choices?
Unless they offer Russian as a foreign language in your high school there's not much you can do to prepare until you get to college. That's ok though. Make sure whatever college you go to has a foreign language program and that they offer Russian and choose that as your major. From there, an advisor will give you a four year plan of all the classes you need to complete your degree. You will definitley want to plan to study abroad (somewhere in Russia) for a semester or two so that you can about the culture and get a better understanding of the language. Good luck to you!
