Can someone translate this into Russian for me?

I'm getting a tattoo of a Guy Fawkes quote, but I want it in Russian. I don't want to use the Google translator because it is really inaccurate. So I need someone who speaks Russian to translate for me:

"A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy"

This is what the Google Translator says:

"Отчаянное заболевание требует опасного выхода"

What is the accurate translation? Can someone translate this into Russian for me?
in case you need translation (literally)

Тяжёлая болезнь требует тяжёлого лечения.

If you need idiom I wouldn't recommend you to use

Для твердого сука нужен острый топор (it's looks VERY convenient but the problem is I don't know such idiom. Maybe it's just very rare. But keep in mind - I'm native Russian. It has 1200 results in google only.)

I think I have a better idiom chose (229 000 results)

Клин клином вышибают. (to fight fire with fire)
While you could look to translate the Guy Fawkes quote, "A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy." into Russian, it might just be better to find a Russian idiom/proverb that basically means the same thing. Basically, the idiom/proverb adresses the concept of the necessary tool for the job, or that certain tasks require specific devices to get the job done.

So..in this case I think it would be:

Для твердого сука нужен острый топор

Fig: You need a sharp axe for a tough bough

Lit: For the hard (solid) bough, necessary (indispensable) is the sharp axe
