Where can I find an online russian writing translator?

I am thinking of getting a tattoo and want something to reflect my russian heritage. I would like to get my surname but written in russian.

My grandfather who is russian has lived in england since the war and his russian isnt all that great anymore, he is 91 years old and my mum doesnt think he would give me the correct translation if I asked him! I would like to know if there is anyway I can get my surname translated into russian writing. I have found the A-Z if you like of the russian alphabet, but putting together the letters to form my surname isnt necessarily going to spell it correctly in russian.

Any ideas? Any help much appreciated. Thanks.Where can I find an online russian writing translator?

Do you really mean "translate your surname"? Many surnames have no apparent meaning and so cannot be "translated", nor is it obvious that it would be useful to translate those names like "Smith" that have a meaning.

I think possibly you mean "transliterate your surname", that is, simply write Cyrillic script to make the same sound. Anyone who knows Russian should be able to do that for you, if you post your surname in Answers.Where can I find an online russian writing translator?
If you want help, just tell me. I speak Russian 'cause I studied it for 2 years and I can read and translate the letters.
