How to translate Russian letter to English ?

I was sent a letter in Russian from Novasibirsk, Russia years ago from a penpal named Olga. I was never able to translate it because my translator was hospitalized and passed away. I have had this letter and it has driven me crazy to know what it says in English. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions on how to find a computer solution to this translation? How to translate Russian letter to English ?
There are on-line translation software available, like Babelfish, Altavista that can be used ONLY to get an idea what the text is about. They can NEVER be trusted for providing accurate translation.

Your problem here is that before you would even be able to use such tool you would have to type your handwritten letter, and then enter that text into Babelfish in order to get it "translated".

If you really want to know what the letters says I would strongly discourage you of using any of on-line translation software. You would need help of a translator.

Since you have already received a generous offer to help you with the translation, it would be the best idea for you to get it translated that way.How to translate Russian letter to English ?

You can't beat an offer for direct translation. But for reference there are on-line translators. May not be perfect (certain words may not translate and grammar will probably suffer) but it will be enough to make heads or tails of your letter:

there is also software you can buy like:

Some may not be any better than the online translators. check em out, look for ones that do proper grammar translation if possible. And see if any do OCR scanning of text. if your letter is typed that would work, if its written then you would need a very advanced OCR system. A friend of mine once had and English OCR program that could interpret even cursive writing, I wish I knew who made it.
You could post it here, and perhaps, someone like me would translate it for you, but if it is long, try to post it in portions...
